An island of Sahara-like dunes and endless white beaches — its name means 'beautiful view.' It's one of the world's major loggerhead turtle nesting sites, with nesting and hatching visible in summer. 4WD tours of the Viana Desert and humpback whale watching (around Feb–May) are also popular.
